At the June 11, 2009 Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation board of directors’ meeting, elections were held to elect the leadership for the upcoming fiscal year.
William (Bill) Mielke, II was re-elected to serve a second term as chair. Mielke, of Wilson’s Nursery, brings a unique prospective to the board because of his involvement with Minnesota Grown and the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association.
“I am honored to serve a second term as chair. The generosity and support of our donators and board members during these challenged economic times gives me renewed inspiration to continue the mission of Minnesota Agriculture in the Classroom of promoting the understanding, awareness and importance of agriculture to the youth of Minnesota,” state Mielke.
Jody Bloemke, from AgStar Financial Services, will serve a second term as Vice Chair. Denny Bjorklund, Agricultural Advisor at Chaska High School will serve as Treasure.
