USDA Releases "Factors Contributing to the Recent Increase in U.S. Fertilizer Prices, 2002-08" February 20, 2009
Late last week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released "Factors Contributing to the Recent Increase in U.S. Fertilizer Prices, 2002-08." The report, which was prepared by USDA’s Economic Research Service, provides an overview of the supply and demand factors affecting the U.S. price of fertilizers; the volatile fertilizer markets; and the long run supply outlook. The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) Vice President of Economic Services Harry Vroomen, as well as representatives from the International Center for Soil Fertility and Agricultural Development and The Mosaic Company’s Vice President of Market and Economic Analysis Mike Rahm, contributed a wide range of data throughout the development process of the report.
